Diversity and Implicit Bias Training

Implicit bias is a difficult topic to consider and discuss. Many people struggle with acknowledging personal bias and understanding how these biases impact how they carry out daily activities. This interactive training aims to:

  1. Help participants discover what bias is, how it functions, and sources of bias

  2. Identify how bias influences our decisions, our behaviors, the way we treat others and interpret others’ experiences

  3. Eliminate some of the difficulties associated with acknowledging bias

This interactive training experience explores the nature of bias at two levels: socio-structural sources of bias (i.e. lawmaking, policy) and individual sources of bias (i.e. personal belief systems; family history; personal experiences). Most importantly, the training will pay special attention to those who are negatively impacted by our personal and socio-structural bias.
